# Welcome to LRT PlayerServers Beta

This page explains what the LRT PlayerServers project is and how the server management can be performed

## ➜ Joining the Network

Server address: **`servers.legendaryrttextures.com`**

You can use 1.9.4 - 1.21 to connect to the LRT PlayerServers Network but it **recommended to join with 1.20.1** or even better with the version of the server you want to join

## Overview

LRT PlayerServers is a Minecraft Server Network offering a Free Minecraft Server to each player to play with his friends. The servers are very easy to setup for the players but they are also very easy to manage while offering advanced features.

To start, the player opens up the ***Main Menu GUI*** on the network lobby by using the compass on their hotbar or by executing the command `/sm` to open the server manager. The player can either choose a specific [server version](/overview/supported-server-versions) or go with the default setup. Once his server is up, he is automatically transferred to it, gains OP permissions and he can start playing with friends.

If no specific version is selected, the default server version 1.20.1 will be used which includes the plugins EssentialsX, ViaVersion, ViaBackwards, FAWE and WorldGuard

Now that the server is up and running, friends can join the server with `/server <playername>` .

To further manage the server there are more methods listed [here](/server-management/ingame), but here are the core commands:

> Managing the server using commands and GUIs is a simple and fast way to perform tasks and tailor the server to your needs without much hassle.

> * You can use the `/menu` command to open up a [Server Management GUI](/server-management/ingame#server-gui-manager) with quick action features like Player Management, Whitelist Management, World Settings and more.
> * Using `/config` you can [browse your server files from a GUI](/server-management/ingame#server-gui-manager). Editing config files is also possible with a redirect in chat to a web file manager when requested.
> * By default, the server comes preinstalled with EssentialsX meaning you can take advantage of [all the 160+ commands available on their Wiki](https://essinfo.xeya.me/commands.html).<br>

We recommend using the whitelist feature to ensure only your friends can join your server

In any scenario, if the server is left without players for 12 minutes it stops automatically. You can start it again by using the server manager GUI inside Main Menu or by executing `/sm`.

* One-Click Smart Action (compass): Creates a default 1.20.1 server if you don't have one, starts your server if you already have one and is offline, sends you to your server if already online.
* Create New Server (green\_glazed\_terracotta): Opens a new GUI Menu to select your new server's version with short pros\&cons info for each version. You can [learn more about the supported versions here](/overview/supported-server-versions).
* Start (lime\_concrete): Start your server.
* Join (oak\_door): Join your server.
* Stop (red\_concrete): Stop your server.
* DELETE SERVER (tnt): Delete your server (confirmation occurs before deletion on a GUI).

# In-Game Server Management (from the player's server)

This page mentions some ways to manage your server while you have joined it

There are many ways to manage a Minecraft Server, we think that the most quick but important ones are listed below and available on all the created servers by default.

There are a couple of Core GUIs provided that can help you execute some server actions easily.

`/menu` | Opens the following GUI

Hovering over your head at the top you can quickly access some basic server info like the version of the server, how many players are online, the status of the whitelist, ban info and the server owner.

* **Plugin Manager GUI** (sticky\_piston): Opens the plugin manager. Quickly install and uninstall plugins via this GUI. The installed plugins are shown first and then all the available for installation ones.\

  Here that it is colored, we can clearly see that green plugins are the installed ones, while the red ones are available but not yet installed by the player.\
  \
  Click on an installed plugin to uninstall it, or click on an available plugin to install it.\
  \
  \+ Note: Some plugins require a server restart in order to be fully enabled.\
  \+ Note: Not all plugins are made for all server versions. If something goes wrong check if there is another plugin version you could try available on the GUI made for your server's Minecraft version.<br>
* **Bans Management** (golden\_axe): List and manage banned players
* **Player Management** (skeleton\_skull): List all the available players. Clicking on a player reveals a new menu with the following possible actions: Kick, Ban, Heal, Feed, Kill, Freeze, Unfreeze, Gamemode Creative, Gamemode Survival, Gamemode Adventure, Gamemode Spectator, OP Player, DeOP Player, Add to Whitelist, Remove from Whitelist.
* **World Options** (diamond\_sword)(affects only the current world you are in): Allows you to change the world's Weather, Time and also lists all gamerules to easily configure them as you like.
* **Whitelist Management** (oak\_door): Allows you to enable and disable whitelist, add new players into the whitelist and remove any existing whitelisted players you no longer want.
* **Set Max Players** (armor\_stand): Allows you to modify the maximum number of players that can join your server. The number you input is checked and if it is above your plan's player slots it is automatically set to your plans maximum allowed players. [Read more about plans](/overview/server-plans)
* **Set MOTD** (paper): Allows you to set the MOTD of your server. It currently cannot be showed somewhere but in the future it might find it's way to the servers GUI on the lobby.
* **Manage Game Rules** (slime\_block): Lists all the current gamerules with their values and allows you to change them easily.

`/config` | Opens the **Configuration GUI** (File Explorer)

This is an in-game file browser through a GUI. Each chest represents a folder, and each paper a file with text that can be modified. Books are files like .jar that cannot be modified.

* When trying to open a file through the GUI, you will be given a clickable link in chat allowing you to edit that specific file in your browser.\

# Server Recommended Security Measures

This page lists some ways to protect your server using the provided plugins and commands

1. The simplest one but most effective, enable **Whitelist**! Add allowed players either via the [GUI](/server-management/ingame#server-gui-manager) or by executing `/whitelist add <playername>` . Then enable the whitelist via the [GUI](/server-management/ingame#server-gui-manager) or by executing `/whitelist on`. To remove a player from the whitelist do `/whitelist remove <playername>` or use the [GUI](/server-management/ingame#server-gui-manager) once again.
2. Minecraft has some small vulnerabilities and dupe glitches that might be exploited by some players depending on your server version. Optimized chunk rendering wherever supported, utilizes the [FartherViewDistance](https://github.com/SpigotPlugins-xuancat0208/FartherViewDistance) plugin to achieve up to 31 chunks of render distance when your server is not overloaded!

This is ideal for a survival server, as you will just wait a couple more seconds on every server start and then you will enjoy that extremely far render distance at almost no performance cost afterwards! Each time you play on the server it will keep getting faster and faster by saving the new chunks and dynamically adapting to your world's needs!

This method utilizes the server's swap memory and the unused CPU of your server instance to make the rendering dynamic and more beneficial for mostly the players but also the server.

The only disadvantage of that method is that if you want to start flying around newly generated chunks at high speed you will most likely have to slow down after a while.&#x20;

As you will notice though if you look back even while flying fast, the traversed chunks remain loaded on the client and do not start disappearing after going far as the default rendering does.

### Can cracked Minecraft accounts join the network?

No, we do not allow that mainly for security reasons as well for server resources abuse protection.

### Random people from the network are joining my server. How can I prevent that?

To prevent such scenarios you will need to setup your server whitelist and enable it. Add players into your whitelist with `/whitelist add <playername>` and then enable your whitelist with `/whitelist on`.

Else you can use the GUI to add your friends into the whitelist. Do `/menu` then select `Whitelist Management`. You can now click on the skull at the top right corner to add players into your whitelist, then use the oak\_door to enable or disable the whitelist.<br>

### Why did I receive a weird message when first joining the network?

Each time you change your network IP we have to analyze the connection and make sure it is not part of a bot attack network.
